Golf Academy

The Terra Nova Golf Resort's Golf Academy is one of the many new highlights for the 2008 golfing season. General Manager and Executive Professional, Scott Hatchard, is very enthusiastic about the endeavor. The Academy will be run by Executive Professional Scott Hatchard and Head Professional Craig Vokey. This academy will be unlike anything else offered in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Golfers can take advantage of our upgraded practice facilities, including a grass teeing area, target greens, and practice bunkers. The Academy will run 1/2 day, 1 Day, and 2 Day camps, however tailored packages can be offered to meet the needs of other clients.  These sessions will be customized for the needs of the specific golfers. The Golf Academy encompasses such things as, Custom Club Fitting, Video Analysis, On Course Instruction, as well as Golf Rules and Etiquette.

The Academy's goal is to grow the game of golf, improve players skill levels, and teach the rules of the game, while giving CPGA qualified golf instruction.

With the Terra Nova Golf Resort being a 27 hole facility, an added bonus of the Academy is for participants to be able to enjoy on course instruction.

Pro Merchandise

The professional staff at the Resort have added a corporate and group merchandise program to the Pro Shop operation for the 2008 season.  Crested and/or logo items can be provided for our groups at very competitive pricing.  A large variety of items will be offered with a wide range of prices.  Our staff will provide all the necessary services including selection of items, setting up crest or logo, delivery to the Resort and distribution of product to the group participants.  Items offered include golf balls, tee packs, glassware, towels, hats, golf shirts and other clothing items, mugs and a wide variety of accessories.

The Pro Shop will be offering a wide variety of top line merchandise including many clubs and accessories including Titleist, Cobra, Callaway, Wison and Odyessey.  "Resort service at extremely competitive prices"  is our motto when it comes to our club sales.

Our on site CPGA Professionals offer Custom Club Fitting featuring the Callaway Fitting System, as well as Taylor Made Driver Fitting. Golfers who take advantage of this program can learn their optimum loft and lie angles, shaft options, set composition, and club styles & types.

2008 Player Development Program 

The Professional staff at the Terra Nova Golf Resort will be offering a Player Development Program for the upcoming 2008 golf season.

This program will provide a fun, effective way for new or beginner golfers to enjoy learning the game in a relaxing and non-intimidating setting.

All instruction will be administered by CPGA Professionals and will include sessions on rules and etiquette, as well as, orientation on golf course procedures such as booking Tee-Times and equipment information. On course golf instruction will also be included.

The program includes the following:

4 Golf Instructional Sessions
4 Rounds of Golf on Eagle Creek Golf Course
1 Informational Golf Handbook
1 Booklet “Rules of Golf Made Easy”

Program cost: $129.95 + HST per person for entire program.

2008 Junior Golf Program

The Terra Nova Golf Resort will conduct a Junior Golf Program again this year. Head CPGA Professional Craig Vokey will be placing his  experience in the golf industry to work developing the skills of junior golfers in the area. Having conducted junior clinics throughout the province, Craig has developed a skill for working and developing junior golfers.

The Junior Golf Program will run for 8 weeks including a season ending tournament at the end of August. The program will focus on such elements of the golf game as:

Proper Set-up
Proper Grip
Rules & Etiquette
Chipping/Putting
Full Swings
Iron Shots
Wood Shots

CPGA Instruction Rates
